Pre-DropOff at UCLA! Jonathan Franklin mobilizing for revival! #Godismoving #unity (at UCLA Bruin Plaza)
I want to see God. To see ONLY God. I feel like when I live life, I see people, circumstances, opportunities, pain, joy, and everything in between. But, I want to see God before all of these things! To have Dove’s Eyes. To see only Him!
How do we see God then? How do we obtain these Dove’s Eyes?
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
(Matthew 5:8 ESV)
To see Him, we must be PURE in heart. What does pure mean? It means without any blemish at all. To be completely of ONE substance. If our hearts are made of a mix of ourselves and God, it isn’t pure. Even just 1% of myself (or anything else for that matter) will make my heart essentially impure.
How, then, do I obtain a pure heart?
How do I purge my heart of everything that dilutes it?
Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(1 Thessalonians 5:23 ESV)
God himself will sanctify me COMPLETELY. I worship a God who wants me to have a pure heart. A God who wants me to see only him. He will carry out that work!
Behold, you are fair, my love!
Behold, you are fair!
You have dove’s eyes.
Song of Solomon 1:15
I want dove’s eyes. To only look at my Beloved!
I want to only look at Him and not get distracted by anything else.
When I’m talking to a friend, listening to lectures, walking to classes, reading a book, and watching a show.
When I seem to be living life on earth, I’ll really be in His presence.
I’ll be looking just at Him. I’ll be thinking just of Him. I’ll be staring just at Him.
I’ll wonder what He’s thinking of, I’ll wonder what He’s weeping for, I’ll wonder what He’s dancing for.
Everything else is unsatisfying, Everything else is simply a distraction. It has no place in my life.
In order to obtain these eyes, I will be violent. I will be jealous. I will be irrational.
Because they are worth it. Because He’s worth it.
Because He does the same for me.
